Petoskey D&W Fresh Market Unveils Extensive Remodel
Chef demonstrations, product samples, wine and craft beer profiles and more scheduled December 18-20

Grand Rapids, Mich., Dec. 15, 2015 — The Petoskey D&W Fresh Market located at 1163 US 31 North has undergone an $800,000 major remodel and it shows!

“D&W Fresh Market understands the importance of serving its local communities – both in and outside of the store. Store guests will discover a variety of new products, services, amenities, and esthetics, including LED lighting in our HBC area, and a collection site for proper retirement of ‘Old Glory.’ As the leading food distributor to U.S. military commissaries and exchanges in the world, SpartanNash is deeply committed to serving our country’s military heroes. This includes supporting local veterans’ initiatives and assisting with proper retirement of faded, torn and worn American flags.

The store’s new offerings include an expanded produce department offering the largest variety of organic produce in Northern Michigan; an abundance of ready-when-you-are meals; salad, soup, parfait, and sushi bars; specialty, made to order bakery items; an expansive wine, beer, and cider selection; a large bulk foods section with over 400 items; a make your own nut-butter station; and meat and seafood departments staffed with center of the plate experts.


Highlights include:

=> Living Well, Living Local 
D&W has a long standing history of working with local farmers to deliver over 200 farm fresh organic products, including many specialty fruits and vegetables. The Living Well section also offers over 250 specialty blend refrigerated juices to recharge and replenish.

=> Wine and Beer Selection 
Petoskey D&W will offer a world-class selection of wine, including 250 new wines, many from Michigan. The in-house team can help customers pair food for get-togethers and find their next wine treasure. The store also features over 600 varieties of beer, including 180 Michigan Made.

=> Ready-When-You-Are Meals and Bakery items 
For customers in search of fresh, easy, healthy, and gourmet meals on the go, the store offers a new grab ‘n go section, or if pizza is on the menu – a flash fired build your own artisan pizza station. Fresh, homemade doughnuts, rolled, and iced daily, as well as ready-made occasion cakes and handcrafted artisan breads from old world recipes will be available. Boar’s Head deli meats and cheeses are also available.

=> Meat and Seafood
Petoskey D&W is a full-service destination for meat and seafood. Our center of the plate specialists are experts on cut-to-order meats, serving sizes and suggestions, seasonings and ready-to-cook cuts – even recipe ideas when a store guest needs a little inspiration.

Petoskey D&W is proud to provide customers with responsibly sourced, antibiotic and hormone free and ethically farmed meat. Over 50 items are available at the seafood service counter, including over 12 varieties of wile caught fish selections that are fresh and flown in daily.

=> Bulk Foods 
Petoskey D&W will offer over 400 bulk items, including a make-your-own-nut-butter station (including almond, peanut and honey roasted peanut butter), bulk honey and a self-serve oil and vinegar station. In the new bulk coffee and tea station, customers can make their own K-Cups and mix or match 24 packs.

=> Pet Center
The new Pet Center offers a large selection of pet foods, treats, and toys.

Store hours are 6:00 am to 12:00 am daily.


Grand opening in store events focusing on A Holiday to Rememberwill span three days, from Thursday, Dec. 17 through Saturday, Dec. 19 and will include product samples, live chef demonstrations, wine and craft beer, activities, and giveaways, with emphasis on holiday entertaining.

See Chef Stu cook up ribeye steaks in a live demonstration; sample our ready-made entrees, Cuban sandwiches from our deli, fresh produce and cider, plus local craft beer. Check out a live floral demonstration for all your holiday entertaining!

=> Saturday, Dec. 19 – A Holiday to Remember – Noon – 5 pm
Our holiday open house continues with seasonal deli features like Sweet Potato Cranberry salad, and a live chef demonstration with premium Scottish salmon fillets. See what’s fresh and ready-to-go in Produce with convenient vegetable trays and dips.
