Kicking off Drive to Provide Food for Those in Need This Holiday Season

Grand Rapids, Mich., Dec. 4, 2015 — Pick’n Save is kicking off its annual Gift of Hope drive by donating a pallet of canned vegetables to the Ironton City Welfare Mission.

Store Director Charles Donohoo will present the donation of 2,084 cans to representatives from the Ironton City Welfare Mission, including Rev. Jeff Cremeans, at Pick’n Save at 1113 Ironton Hills Drive, Ironton, OH 45638, at noon on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015. Also in attendance will be City Health Commissioner Laura Brown.

During the Gift of Hope, customers can purchase donation tickets in the amount of $1, $3 and $5 at checkout registers. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Ironton City Welfare Mission to provide food for local families in need.

Customers will also have the opportunity to purchase and to donate special items that the Mission needs most, such as peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, canned tuna fish and canned vegetables. Collection bins will be available near checkout lanes.
