The SpartanNash Foundation to Donate $95,000 to 19 Community Partners in 13 States
Donations to Be Presented by Distribution Centers Companywide

Grand Rapids, Mich., Dec. 16, 2015 — This December, the SpartanNash Foundation will donate $95,000 to 19 nonprofit community partners in 13 states.

Each $5,000 donation will be made on behalf on SpartanNash’s 19 distribution centers located throughout the United States. Throughout the year, SpartanNash distribution centers donate products to nonprofits working to end hunger and provide shelter.

“The SpartanNash Foundation has three areas of focus—hunger, shelter, and patriotism,” said Meredith Gremel, VP, Corporate Affairs and Communications, and Executive Director of the Foundation. “We are proud to report that over the past ten years our distribution centers have donated nearly $1 million dollars to community food bank and pantry partners in the communities we serve, in addition to donating millions of pounds of food.”

The following SpartanNash distribution centers will be presenting donations to the following nonprofits:

  • Bloomington MDV – Hoosiers Hills Food Bank
  • Bluefield – Bluefield Union Mission
  • Columbus MDV – Valley Rescue Mission
  • Fargo – Great Plains Food Bank
  • Grand Rapids – Access of West Michigan
  • Landover MDV – Maryland Food Bank
  • Lima – West Ohio Food Bank
  • Lumberton – Robeson County Church & Community Center
  • Minot – Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry
  • Norfolk MDV – Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia
  • Oklahoma City MDV – Regional Food Bank
  • Omaha – Food Bank for the Heartland
  • Pensacola MDV – Manna Food Bank
  • San Antonio MDV – San Antonio Food Bank
  • Sioux Falls – Food Bank of South Dakota
  • Cloud – Caritas Emergency Services
  • Statesboro – Statesboro/Bulloch City Food Bank
  • Westville – The Michigan City Salvation Army

The SpartanNash Foundation was formed following the merger of the Nash Finch Company and Spartan Stores, and it represents the best of the NFC Foundation and the Spartan Stores Foundation.
