SpartanNash, Kraft Heinz donate $10,000 to support local youth hockey associations
Grand Valley Amateur Hockey Association and Cheboygan Hockey Association in Michigan, River Falls Youth Hockey Association in Wisconsin each selected to receive $3,333
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Through a partnership with the Kraft Heinz Company, SpartanNash and its Family Fare and Family Fresh Market stores recently donated a total of $10,000 to support three local youth hockey organizations – Grand Valley Amateur Hockey Association in West Michigan, Cheboygan Hockey Association in Northern Michigan and River Falls Youth Hockey Association in Wisconsin.
As a part of the annual Kraft Hockeyville contest, simultaneous $3,333 check presentations took place on March 20 at Family Fare Supermarkets in Hudsonville and Cheboygan, Mich. and at the Family Fresh Market in River Falls, Wisc. The three youth hockey associations were selected because of their impact in their local community and for having established scholarship programs.
“At SpartanNash, we are all about supporting our local communities, and we are proud to partner with Kraft Heinz in this way,” said Meredith Gremel, SpartanNash vice president of corporate affairs and communications. “Each year, SpartanNash contributes more than $1.5 million back into our local communities through sponsorships, fundraising programs, product donations and partnerships like this one – in addition to volunteering more than 57,000 hours in 2018 for an additional economic impact of more than $1.38 million. We can’t wait to see the difference these $3,333 donations will make as these organizations teach good sportsmanship, teamwork and life skills.”
Since 2016, SpartanNash and Kraft Heinz have teamed up to donate more than $40,000 to youth hockey associations through localized campaigns associated with the Kraft Hockeyville program.
