Amy Ellis, RPh SpartanNash Director of Pharmacy
Amy Ellis, RPh has served as SpartanNash’s Director, Pharmacy since May 2022. Her responsibilities include oversight of all retail pharmacy operations and patient care services offered by SpartanNash clinical pharmacists, as well as the company’s pharmacy warehouse, central fill and affiliate buying group. Amy serves as the site coordinator for the Ferris State University-SpartanNash PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency program.
She has worked in various roles since joining SpartanNash in 2012, including Director, Pharmacy Operations and Clinical Care; Manager, Pharmacy Services; Clinical Care Coordinator; and Pharmacy Manager. Amy has been actively involved with the Michigan Pharmacists Association and the OutcomesMTM National Advisory Board, in addition to serving as a member of the American Pharmacist Association and National Council of Prescription Drug Programs.
Amy’s work has been recognized by Progressive Grocer, Drug Store News, the Michigan Society of Community Pharmacists, the Michigan Political Action Committee and as a fellow with the Michigan Pharmacist Association.
Amy graduated from Ferris State University in 1999.
Mike Smith SpartanNash Pharmacy Sales Manager
Mike has been with the company since 2000 when it acquired the Seaway Foodtown chain of grocery stores and discount pharmacies. He’s held many positions with SpartanNash and has been in his current role since March 2008. Mike’s responsibilities include:
- Making sure the needs of independent pharmacy members in the group are met and to answer their questions
- Growing the group membership
- Establishing relationships with independent pharmacies and promoting the benefits of being a member of a larger group
- Looking for potential pharmacy purchase opportunities that would be added to our corporate pharmacy count
Jennifer Sailer SpartanNash Pharmacy Sales Representative
As the Pharmacy Sales Representative Jennifer is responsible for:
- Making sure the needs of independent pharmacy members in the group are met and to answer their questions
- Growing the group membership
- Establishing relationships with independent pharmacies and promoting the benefits of being a member of a larger group
- Looking for potential pharmacy purchase opportunities that would be added to our corporate pharmacy count
